Meet our Team
Becky Mumm, LCSW
Owner, Clinical Director, ClinicianRebecca “Becky” Mumm, LCSW, is the owner and clinical director of North Point Counseling in Rexburg, Idaho. She provides trauma-informed therapy to adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups, with particular expertise in trauma recovery, emotional regulation, relationships, attachment, and the development of felt safety.
Becky believes the relationship between therapist and client is the foundation of meaningful change. Her approach is warm, collaborative, strengths-based, and person-centered. She works to create an environment where clients can share important parts of their stories without judgment, better understand the ways their experiences have shaped them, and recognize the strengths and capacities they already possess. Rather than prescribing a single path to healing, Becky helps each person identify what matters most to them and move toward greater freedom, connection, and confidence in their own judgment.
Her clinical work draws from a variety of evidence-informed approaches and is tailored to each client’s needs, goals, and experiences. She has completed advanced training in trauma treatment, couples therapy, and other approaches that support emotional healing, healthy relationships, and lasting change. Becky holds an Advanced Trauma Certification and is committed to continuing her education so she can provide thoughtful, effective, and compassionate care.
In addition to her clinical practice, Becky has extensive experience in clinical leadership, staff education, program development, and curriculum design. She has created and delivered agency-wide training modules that translate complex clinical concepts into practical, accessible tools for counselors. She also develops comprehensive trauma-responsive group curricula, including facilitator guides, participant workbooks, psycho-educational resources, structured experiential activities, regulation practices, and clinical guidance for supporting safety and connection within groups. Her curriculum-development work reflects her belief that effective clinical education should be grounded in research while remaining compassionate, understandable, and useful in real-life settings.
Becky earned her Master of Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University and her bachelor’s degree, with a minor in sociology, from Brigham Young University–Idaho.
Becky and her husband met while attending college in Idaho and have been married since 1995. They have two sons and a daughter. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Becky returned to Idaho with her family in 2004. She especially enjoys spending time with her children, their spouses, and her two grandchildren. Family time may include watching sports, enjoying the outdoors, cooking, gardening, playing games, or settling in for a Netflix marathon. Becky also loves all types of music and enjoys the many ways music can bring people together and add meaning to everyday life. She believes deeply in the value of self-care, with humor holding a particularly important place in her life. Even when life is challenging, Becky intentionally makes room to laugh.
